Day 1: LUANG PRABANG ARRIVAL
You will take the international flight from your home country to Luang Prabang, a charming Laotian touristy city, set amidst lush mountains. This sacred city of golden temples and glittering spires is globally recognized by UNESCO, for its artful mix of traditional Laos and colonial architecture.
We will meet and pick you up upon your arrival at the international airport. After the hotel check-in, you can either relax into the laid-back pace of the town, with a sunset cocktail along the river or just take your own time to explore the nearby surrounding areas, and observe the daily local lifestyle.
Day 2: LUANG PRABANG (B)
After breakfast at the hotel, visit Wat Xieng Thong and Wat Mai, with their sweeping roofs and decorative features. Then cruise the tea-coloured waters of Mekong River to reach Pak Ou caves, which are filled with thousands of Buddha sculptures, left by pilgrims. Later in the afternoon, return to Luang Prabang and wander into the halls of the former palace of the city, which is now a museum. Then catch the sunset from the top of Mount Phousi, before going for dinner. Overnight in Luang Prabang.
Day 3: LUANG PRABANG – HANOI (B)
Rise early to the sounds of the temple gong and watch the daily ritual of monks collecting their daily alms. This important part of Buddhist culture is not to be missed! We will then transfer you from the hotel to the international airport for your flight to Hanoi, Vietnam’s capital city. Upon arrival in Hanoi, we will pick you up and bring you to the hotel for check-in. Enjoy your own time for the rest of the day.
Day 4: HANOI CITY TOUR (B,L)
Discover the story of Hanoi by exploring its top touristy sites, and the labyrinthine-like streets of the Old Quarter. Visit the Presidential Palace, One Pillar Pagoda, and Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum — the final resting place of Vietnam’s founding president. You will also tour the World Heritage Site of the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long, an archaeological site dating back to the 11th century, and the famous Temple of Literature.
In the afternoon, you will have a chance to view the iconic Long Bien Bridge, which was partially bombed during the Vietnam War. Then take a breezy cyclo ride through the Old Quarters ‘36 old streets’, with each street named after a specific trade that street was known for, in the old days. Finish the city tour with a taste of the local coffee at a recommended cafe. Have dinner, and rest early for the next adventure tomorrow.
Day 5: HANOI – HALONG BAY (B,L,D)
At 8am, we will fetch you from your hotel, to head to Halong Bay. We will arrive slightly before noon, at the Halong Bay Pier, where you will be transferred to the cruise ship. Once on board the ship, you will be provided a welcome drink, followed by cruise briefing and safety instructions, conducted by the host of the boat. After that, you will check in your cabin.
Lunch will be served on board while cruising and passing by Dog islet, Fighting Cock islet (symbol of Halong Bay), Hoa Cuong fishing village, and Swan islet. After lunch, the ship will continue exploring the wonders of Halong bay, passing by countless islands including Soi Sim beach, Coconut Tree Island.
We will anchor the vessel at Frog Pond area, where you can take time to explore this beautiful scenery by kayaking through the majestic scenery and swimming in emerald coloured water.
Relax on the sundeck with some cocktails, complimented by a variety of tropical fruits and best local wines. Then attend a cooking demonstration with our chef to learn one of the most popular cuisines in Vietnam: spring rolls. If you don’t want to cook, you can refresh yourself in the Jacuzzi.
For dinner, we specially prepare a 11-course meal to reward your taste buds and stomach. After that, you can engage in various evening activities, such as relaxing at leisure, doing squid fishing, going for spa services and dipping into the Jacuzzi.
Day 6: HALONG BAY – HANOI – FLIGHT TO HUE (B,L)
Wake up to a refreshing morning with an organized Tai Chi class scheduled at 6.30am. Once, we have revived our bodies with smooth, deliberate, flowing movements, you may enjoy a light breakfast with our assorted homemade pastries, along with coffee, tea or fresh fruit juices.
We will move next on to Sung Sot Cave, where you will have the option to climb up and down 600 steps, to the magnificent limestone formations of the most beautiful and biggest cave in Halong bay. After the visit to the cave, you will check out of the cabin, and settle your bill, if you have incurred any additional expenses, like drinks or snacks in the bar.
A beautiful brunch buffet will be served as the ship cruises back to the Halong Bay harbour.
Our coach will pick you up and return back to Hanoi. ETA to be about 5pm, if the traffic is cooperative.
After dinner, we will prepare for the next transfer to the domestic airport for the flight to Hue, in central Vietnam. Upon arrival in Hue, we will transfer you to the hotel for check in. Overnight in Hue city.
Day 7: HUE CITY TOUR (B,L)
From 1802, Hue was the political, cultural and religious centre of a unified Vietnam, until the end of the Nguyen dynasty in 1945, when the capital was moved to Hanoi.
After breakfast, begin a city tour of UNESCO designated monuments, including the Imperial Citadel and Imperial Tombs of the former emperors. After lunch, take a cruise along the Perfume River, as it wends its way through the city centre to Thien Mu Pagoda. Overnight in Hue.
Day 8: HUE – HOI AN (B,L)
After breakfast, take a drive along the scenic Hai Van Pass, towards ancient port town of Hoi An. This UNESCO recognized town is artfully restored to its former glory, and its quaint architecture makes a perfect picture postcard that you can take and send to your friends and family. In the afternoon, take a guided walking tour of the charming town to discover a preserved pagoda, assembly hall, and beautiful covered bridge, which are the living linkages to Hoi An’s ancient past.
Day 9: HOI AN – FREE & EASY (B)
Beside the ancient heritage and architecture, Hoi An is renowned for its tailors, who can sew an new dress, suit, or anything you can dream-up in no time. If you do not want to laze your time away on the beach, why not take a cycling tour in the countryside? Or roll up your sleeves and experience yourself as a fisherman or farmer for the day!
Day 10: HOI AN – HO CHI MINH CITY (B,L)
After breakfast at the hotel, prepare yourself as we will bring you to the international airport for the flight to the modern capital of Vietnam – Ho Chi Minh City, formerly and still commonly referred to as Saigon.
Discover the story of Saigon that you’ve never heard before - from a city of conflict, before Vietnam War, to the most modern metropolis in Vietnam now. You get to visit key landmarks, such as the Central Post Office, Notre Dame Cathedral, and War Remnants Museum - where you learn about the city’s transition from war-torn Saigon, to urban Ho Chi Minh City. End your day with a speedboat trip down the river to see the different unique side of this urban city. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.
Day 11: CU CHI TUNNELS (B,L)
You will have your breakfast at the hotel before we pick you for your next adventure. Travel by speedboat from Ho Chi Minh City to Cu Chi Tunnels - an underground city strategically used by Viet Cong soldiers during Vietnam War.
Cruise the Saigon River, and enjoy the natural scenery and river life as you leave the bustling city behind. Upon arrival at Cu Chi tunnels, discover how the Viet Cong survived underground. Understand and learn how various man traps are used. See real bomb craters and other remnants of the war. Finally, visit a local interesting farm and get to taste an unusual local specialty, if only you dare - cricket! Return back to Ho Chi Minh City, have dinner and rest for the day.
Day 12: HO CHI MINH – SIEM REAP (B)
Have breakfast at the hotel and check out as we will pick you up to the airport for your next itinerary. Fly to Siem Reap, the gateway to the World Heritage listed Temples of Angkor. The Angkor complex embodies the entire range of Khmer art from the 9th to 14th centuries and played a formative role in the cultural and political development of the region. After lunch, we will visit the Roluos group of temples for your first peek into Angkorian masterpieces. We will have dinner in a local restaurant before you return to the hotel and rest for the day.
Day 13: SIEM REAP – ANGKOR THOM & ANGKOR WAT (B)
Start your exploration of the magnificent temples at Angkor Thom. Wander the Bayon with its hundreds of smiling faces and impressive bas reliefs, depicting stories of daily life, including the great battles that were fought by the Khmers. See the rows of trunks that form the wall of Terrace of the Elephants and Terrace of Leper Kings, followed by the most beloved temples of all – Ta Prohm.
This small crumbling temple is held together by giant tree roots, giving it a mystical feel. In the afternoon, explore the magnificent Angkor Wat, the world’s largest religious monument. This visually spectacular temple is a massive three-tiered pyramid, rising 65m from the ground and crowned by five lotus towers. End your day with sunset views over the jungle from the top of an ancient temple.
Day 14: SIEM REAP – BANTEAY SREI (B)
On the second last day of the itinerary, you get to venture to the outer reaches of the Angkor complex to see Banteay Srei – the Citadel of Women. This 10th century Hindu temple is constructed of pink sandstone and is revered for its intricate and delicate carvings. After lunch, you will have your own free time, either to relax by the pool, or wander into the local markets and shops for souvenir shopping in the city.
Day 15: SIEM REAP – DEPARTURE (B)
On your last day, you can still do your last-minute shopping after breakfast, especially to grab those trinkets at the local markets before we transfer you to the international airport for your flight back home.
